Hello and happy Friday.

So far I’ve been doing a capable job of keeping on task for my NY goals and intentions. How about you? Reading more. Check! Walking daily. Check! Baking more. Check! (This focaccia was delish). Scrolling less. Che…Making progress.

For many, coming out of these past two years of isolation has inspired a real need for companionship with friends and community. Nobody wants to miss out on the fun whether it’s in real life or online. But as I look at myself and my daughter, I can see we’re not allowing ourselves to JUST.BE.BORED. I remember hours upon hours of being bored in my teenage bedroom with nothing on my calendar. It led me to journal, read, draw, listen to records, daydream, and scheme. I’m yearning for more of those days.

Nobody comes up with the brilliant idea when their mind is busy with other thoughts. Those come when we’re quiet. In the shower. On the walk. Mindlessly driving in the car. So when my friend Courtney sent me this article on how we need to be bored to live a better life, it totally resonated. Take a look and see if it does for you too.
