Friday Faves

Hello hello and happy Friday.

Well, I did it. I FINALLY did it! After two years of having this one item on my to-do list every single day, yes literally EVERY SINGLE DAY, I finally sat down and I DID IT. That one thing that has been hanging over my head for two full years and niggling in the back of mind is finally struck from the list!

How did I find the motivation? I’m laying my success to this podcast I mentioned In last week’s Friday Faves. It pushed my buttons to finally get my butt over my move-it-to-tomorrow-AGAIN hump. After walking my Zoee dog, I came home, sat at my desk, and wrote down just the one thing on my to-do list instead of the usual 43. And I just dove in. It’s so dumb because I had it done in under an hour. Probably even less. But now I’m giving myself a pat on the back knowing the momentum will sustain.

After working her buns off slinging lattes and saving up all of her dollars, my baby Smudge leaves today for three months on the Asian leg of her travels before heading to college come fall. It’s surprising how much more at ease her big daddio and I are about her leaving this time around. Sure, there will be new challenges travel through Southeast Asia will present, but after planning and navigating Europe for three months, I have full confidence in her and her street smarts. Man, what a time, what an experience. I’m so happy for her.

Naturally, her last supper was Mexican food from our favorite local spot, with her dad’s homemade matzo ball soup (with shredded chicken instead of meatballs) requested as one of her last homemade meals. Because just like her mom and dad, it’s all about the food.

But enough of all this. Let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.
