These aren’t your average chocolate chip cookies. Jack Jack Num Num cookies are chocolate chip cookies on another level. Just like Jack Jack from The Incredibles movie, everyone wants to take a bite of these deep dish chocolate chip cookies! Using basic ingredients, you’ll make soft cookie dough that’s packed with chocolate chunks and baked in its own little deep dish cup. This allows the cookie to have the perfect cookie texture on the outside with a warm soft center.

While these delicious cookies can only be found in Pixar Pier in Disneyland California and Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World, this copycat recipe tastes just like the real thing and can be enjoyed even if you’re not a Disney fan. Who doesn’t love a big warm chocolate chip cookie?

If you’re in the Disneyland parks, you can find these cookies in Pixar pier. The cookie stand is The Incredible’s themed and is a quick service stand. At Walt Disney World, the cookies are located at The Market near the entrance to Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • You can make this Disney park treat right at home.
  • These mini deep dish cookies are made with simple pantry baking ingredients.
  • They have chocolate chips AND chunks for a double chocolate flavor.
  • Great to serve for parties or to bring to events with kids.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Cold Butter – You’ll need very cold butter to cream together with the sugar to create a perfectly soft texture.
  • Sugar – You need both light brown sugar and granulated white sugar to sweeten these cookie cups perfectly.
  • Eggs – Help to bind the ingredients together and set while baking and cooling.
  • Vanilla Extract – Gives this dessert a light vanilla flavor that pairs well with chocolate.
  • All-Purpose Flour – Makes sure the cookies have shape, texture and holds all the ingredients together.
  • Cornstarch – Helps add a slightly dense texture to the outside while it stays soft on the inside.
  • Baking Powder – Helps the cookies rise while baking.
  • Salt – Activates the baking powder and helps to balance the sweet flavor in the cookies.
  • Chocolate – This recipe uses both chocolate chips and chocolate chunks. You can use standard size chips or mini chocolate chips.

How To Make Jack Jack Num Num Cookies

  1. Prepare for baking: Preheat your oven to 350F. Then, add 4” deep shallow baking cups onto a large baking sheet and set aside. I use these deep dish baking cups.
  2. Cream wet ingredients together: Add the cold butter and both sugars into the bowl of a stand mixer. Using the paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar together over medium-high speed until they are combined and fluffy. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until well combined.
  3. Prepare dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt until well incorporated. Sift out any large clumps if needed.
  4. Mix the wet and dry ingredients: Turn your stand mixer on medium-low speed, and slowly add the dry ingredient mixture just until it resembles a soft cookie batter.
  5. Add the chocolate: Pour in the chocolate chips and 1/2 of the chocolate chunks and slowly mix until they are evenly distributed without over mixing.
  6. Assemble the cookie cups: Using a measuring spoon or ice cream scoop, add ½ cup of the cookie mixture into each baking cup and gently press the dough down. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chunks on top of each cookie cup and gently press them into the top of the cookie.
  7. Bake and cool: Place the cookies in the oven and bake for 20-22 minutes until they are golden brown on top. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

These cookies are HUGE and can easily serve two people each.

Expert Tips

  • When making cookies with a soft inside, it’s important to only mix the cookie dough just until everything is incorporated. Overmixing will create a tough texture.
  • You can use a rubber spatula to fold in the chocolate chips and chocolate chunks to prevent overmixing.
  • While you can mix in all the chocolate at once, for a chocolate studded texture and look on top, it’s important to save some chocolate to press into the top before baking.
  • A greased cookie or ice cream scoop is the perfect tool to evenly distribute the cookie dough into the paper liners.
  • Let the cookies cool at least 15 minutes after baking to allow the cookie to give it the perfect dense crust-like texture on the outside.

  • Gluten-Free Version: If you’d like to make this Disney treat gluten-free, replace the all-purpose flour with a 1:1 blend of gluten-free flour that contains xanthan gum.
  • Add a warming flavor by using a pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice in the cookie dough before baking.
  • You can use any variety of chocolate in this recipe including white chocolate, peanut butter, or butterscotch chips.
  • M&Ms or rainbow sprinkles make a great addition to top this decadent cookie.
